Thyrotoxicosis is that medical condition which occurs in thyroid glands and caused by caused by thyroid hormones in the blood. When thyroid hormone increases its level in the blood then it is said that people have thyrotoxicosis. It is most common problem in females rather than males. Thyrotoxicosis is an emergency life threatening problem. It is also caused by viral or bacterial infection. In this disease the patient may hospitalize and take proper care.

Cause of Thyrotoxicosis: Mainly the thyrotoxicosis is caused by thyroid hormones and hyperthyroidism which is leading to thyrotoxicosis disease called Graves’ disease. . Other causes factors are:

• Anyone is affected these disease who has an overactive thyroid or overactive solitary lump in the thyroid.

• Inflammation is also releasing the cause of thyroid hormones.

• Transient thyrotoxicosis has occurred in 20% women’s during the time of pregnancy.

• Over activity solitary lump has increase the risk of thyroid disease.



Symptoms of Thyrotoxicosis: In thyrotoxicosis patient is suffer from various disease and infections. Some symptoms of thyrotoxicosis are:

• Increase in body temperature.
• Stomach ache
• Body may become yellowish (Jaundice)
• Heart Failure
• Pulmonary edema
• Diarrhea disease
• Heart failure
• Patient may go in coma
• Sweating, tremors and increased heart rate
• People getting to hunger but lose weight, bulging of the eyes, weight loss and irritability.


Treatment of thyrotoxicosis: If it is untreated then thyrotoxicosis leads many problems and creates dangerous condition, So proper treatment is very important for this disease. If the people see all these symptoms then it is a time to take treatment by doctor. Doctor will take your medical history like, potassium, sodium and calcium, blood sugar level and take diagnosis test. Doctor will suggest you treatment like Medications for inhibit the thyroid hormones, surgery to remove the thyroid, vitamins and antibiotics and so on. For the better treatment take your medicine prescribed by your physician. It is long term treatment so follow your doctor advice to prevent yourself from this disease.
