Spinal Stenosis Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

What is Spinal stenosis? Spinal stenosis is abnormal narrowing of one or more areas in your spine and everyone will experience low back pain. It may occur in the center o your spine most often in your lower back and neck. About 75% cases are occurring in the lower back which can cause pain along the back of the leg. Stenosis affects equally men and women, most common over 50 years old. Mostly adult people are affected. Types of spinal stenosis include: Lumbar stenosis : Lumbar stenosis is narrowing of the spinal nerve roots which compress the lower back or choked. It may affect younger person due to developmental causes. It can produce numbness or weakness in to the legs and buttocks. Foraminal stenosis : Nerve root leave the canal through a hole in the side of the spinal canal called the lateral foramen. Foraminal is common result of disc degeneration.
