Leprosy is an infectious and chronic bacterial disease which is caused by bacteria Mycobacterium leprae which is referring to the skin problem, progressive debilitation, muscles in the hand and nervous damage.

Leprosy is a curable disease it is treated by using a regimen of drugs. Leprosy is also known as Hansen's disease. There are thousands of people in all over the world who is affected by leprosy. People who are suffering from leprosy affected both socially and physically. It can be affected at all ages of people.

Causes of Leprosy: Leprosy is mainly caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae. This bacterium is same as the cause of tuberculosis. These bacteria multiply slowly in our body there are air bone infection of leprosy like coughing and sneezing. Leprosy is attack the surface of nerves in cool spots of the body figures and toes become infected not feel any pain in your figures. They can easily get injured from cut or burns. Blindness and disability is occursing if it is left untreated. Some another cause are genetic factor and environmental condition also increase the risk of leprosy.

Symptoms of Leprosy: The symptoms of leprosy are occurs very slowly usually in the year. When first symptoms are occurring then skin may be slight redder or darker rather than normal skin. Some sign and symptoms of Leprosy are:

• Skin become reddish and copper in color, flat nodules or raised skin lesions
• Skin become thick, pale areas of skin and peripheral nerves
• Internal lining of nose can damage which will collapse the nose.
• Leprosy is attack to the eyes which causes lack of blinking, eye pain if it is untreated then it become blindness and eyes become infected and dry.
• Leprosy is affect to the fingers and toes, you loss pain in figures.
• Destruction of the nasal cartilage
• Weakness in muscles


Prevention: For the prevention from leprosy avoiding the physical contact from affected people. Take long term medicine treatment.

Treatment of Leprosy: Great news of leprosy is that it is curable disease. When the symptoms will occur it is necessary to start the best treatment. For six months Pauci-bacillary(PB) leprosy treatment is used and for 12 months Multi-bacillary(MB) leprosy. Doctor will suggest you many antibiotic treatment and multi therapy treatment. Antibiotic treatments are rifampin, Dapsone, clofazimine this treatment is very beneficial to kill the bacteria. Doctor may suggest you aspirin and other medicines to control inflammation. So take proper treatment from specialist doctor.
