Myopia Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Myopia is a vision defect eye problem also known as nearsightedness, natural change in the eye ball. 20 or 30 % population are affected from myopia but it easily corrected with contact lenses, eye glass and surgery. The people who are suffering from myopia facing difficulty in seeing object, but they can see that object which is near. In most cases of myopia the vision is administrated at childhood years and it is inherited at all age of people.. Myopia is just like eye disorder not an eye disease.

Causes of Myopia: Myopia is eye larger or elongated which means optical power is too strong for eyes. With research it is find that myopia increase at very higher rate run in most of families. Mostly the myopia is caused excessive lengthening of the eye in childhood age. Too much study increases the risk of myopia and most of work like reading, close television and computer work can be influence the development of myopia. tress is a big contributor in causing myopia it put so much strain on eyes.


In children who spend so much time in indoor and less time at outdoor get myopia at higher rates. It causes due to lifestyle like human spend lots of time indoor with this background eyes start to affect with myopia. It cause from writing or reading with tired eyes and this is because of low light condition our eyes need to focus more on it. Genetic also cause myopia if both parents are affected then there is higher tendency for their children.

Symptoms of myopia: If you have myopia you may find difficulty to seeing object or problem in reading. Mostly children are affected with myopia. ome common myopia symptoms in children:

Some children hold books or objects very close to the eyes.
Loose interest in sports activities.
Swelling in eyes and watering many times.
Facing difficulty in recognizing particular object.
Frequent attack of headaches.
Problem in seeing the television or blackboard.

Some other symptoms of nearsightedness(myopia):

Reduce work performance.
Blurred vision
Get eye strain due to concentration or stress
Squinting of eyes due to too much eye strain
Get headache and eye fatigue with watering eyes

Precaution from myopia: We can reduce the risk of myopia like:
1) We can do eye setting-up exercises, way to rub, points to be accurate.
2) Read in a proper manner to prevent eye strain, keep proper distance while reading a book. Adult people have to keep distance 14 to 16 inches until the age of 40 years.
3) Try to read everything in a daylight or blue light, avoid night reading.
$) Keep proper distance from the television, for 20 inches screen television keep correct distance it shopuld be 100 inches or 8 feet and 4 inches and don’t view TV in a dark room.
4) Children should play outdoor games, should not entail too much close work.

Treatment of myopia: There are many ways for treatment of myopia Eye glasses, refractive surgery, contact lenses is the conventional treatment for myopia. Surgeries include LASEK, LASIK, Photoreactive keratoplasty (PRK) and additional surgeries are intraocular lens implant. Homeopathic eye drop can help in treating the myopia. During the teenage years, when the body grows rapidly, myopia may become worse. Between the ages of 20 and 40, there is usually little change. Myopia can also occur in adults. What is Asterixis? Asterixis is a type of movement disorder characterized by arrhythmic flexion movements of hands evoked by dorsiflexion of the wrists and outstretched arms. It is an involuntary tremor of the wrist loss of sustained contraction of the arms against ones will. It is produced by lapse of sustained posture. Mainly it causing hand tremors and the tremor occurs in both wrists and is not rhythmic characterized by metacarpophalangeal joints, jerky, irregular movements at the wrist and often accompanied by lateral movements of the fingers. Sometime this condition is called liver flap because it indicate brain damage or liver damage. Asterixis might be caused by kidney problems. Causes of Asterixis : The common cause of asterixis is liver failure or it might be caused by the problems of kidney failure. This is called azotemia. Kidneys have trouble in filtering out nitrogen-based compounds. Other causes are DRUGS (ABC) like alcohol, anticonvulsant phenytoin and carbamazepine,
