Pulmonary edema: The general meaning of edema means swelling. Pulmonary edema is that condition which is caused by too much fluid in the lungs, which leads to shortness of breath and swelling. It includes impaired gas exchange and cause respiratory failure, heart not removing fluid from blood circulation it occurs to the lung parenchyma. This will also cause too much pressure in the blood vessels which not occupied enough protein. Pulmonary edema can become a serious life threatening disease. It is also caused by acute serve, asthma or exercising.

Causes of Pulmonary edema: Most often pulmonary edema causes due to heart failure or other infections. When heart fails then lung starts to rise also causes from high pressure in blood vessels due to poor heart function, heart attack. It is also caused by directly damaged to the lungs Some other risk of Pulmonary edema:

Kidney failure: When your kidney fails to remove waste then it causes pulmonary edema.

Lung Infections: When edema is occur only in part of the lungs then it result lung infections.

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS): It is serious disorder occurs when lung fill with fluid from blood vessels. It is caused by several infections radiation to the lung, smoking, lung infection.

Smoking: Smoke contain chemical which damage lung.

Medicine side effects: Some complications occur due to aspirin or some drug treatments.

High blood pressure, Coronary heart disease.

Symptoms of Pulmonary edema: Symptoms of pulmonary edema is depending on the causes and it come quickly. Some symptoms are:

Difficulty in breathing, shortness of breath
Coughing up blood
Excessive sweating
Pale skin, sweating
Feeling suffocating or drowning
If it is caused by heart disease then chest pain occurs
Wheezing or gasping for breath
Loss of appetite
Severe headache
Heart palpitations
Losing consciousness
Problem in speak to full sentence

Precaution from Pulmonary edema: You can reduce the risk of pulmonary edema by following these steps:

Control blood pressure: Some time blood pressure become a serious condition so it’s important to control your blood pressure. Take regularly checkup.

Stop smoking, because smoking is affect to your lungs and it is higher risk of pulmonary edema.

Eat healthy diet. Fish is beneficial for heart disease, eat plenty food and vegetable, vitamin and minerals help to reduce the risk of pulmonary edema, and also try to control your blood cholesterol.

Follow doctor instructions take proper and regular check up
Take full sleep at each night, it take lots of rest.

Treatment of Pulmonary edema: Pulmonary edema can be a life threatening disease so medical care is necessary. Take medical checkup from your doctor he will take all history of your disease and perform some physical test to your lungs and heart. Doctor will take blood test, chest X-ray, ECG (to check heart rhythm) and ultrasound. If problem in breathing the give oxygen through face mask from a flexible plastic tube remove excess fluid from following medicines like blood pressure medicines etc.

What is Asterixis? Asterixis is a type of movement disorder characterized by arrhythmic flexion movements of hands evoked by dorsiflexion of the wrists and outstretched arms. It is an involuntary tremor of the wrist loss of sustained contraction of the arms against ones will. It is produced by lapse of sustained posture. Mainly it causing hand tremors and the tremor occurs in both wrists and is not rhythmic characterized by metacarpophalangeal joints, jerky, irregular movements at the wrist and often accompanied by lateral movements of the fingers.
