Gallstones Causes, Symptoms and Treatment


Gallstones are small stone and most common digestive disease that form in your gallbladder. The gallbladder is a pear shaped organ (small in size) located below your liver and store the bile. Bile is watery liquid made by cell which is important for digesting food in the intestine. It contain several different substances include water, cholesterol, bile salts, proteins, fats and bilirubin. Bilirubin is a yellowish pigment found in bile, there are two types of gallstones.

Cholesterol stones: cholesterol stones make up of 80% gallbladder stones. It is usually yellowish-green in color. It blocks the normal flow of bile. It reduces irregular discharge of gall juice.

Pigment stones: Pigment stones are small dark black stone which is excess bilirubin in the bile. They develop in those people who have biliary tract infections, cirrhosis and hereditary blood disorders. Women are more affected from gallstones as like as man.

Causes of gallstones: gallstones are causes when bile forms solid particles in the gallbladder. People who are fasting also increase the risk of gallstone. Some causes of gallstones are:

Family history: Gallstone is occurring from family history often run in families include genetic factors.

Obesity: Obesity is the risk of increasing gallstones, especially in women. Obesity reduce the amount of bile salt, increasing cholesterol reduces gallstones.

Diet: cholesterol and high fat increase the risk of gallstones, junk food also become the risk of gallstone.

Rapid weight loss: If the body reduces weight very fast due to crash diet then it causes the gallstone.

Age: Age is also a most common cause of gallstone. People who are older than 60 has the higher risk of gallstone rather than younger.

Sex: Women’s are mostly affected as like as men, due to birth control pills, undergoing high-dose estrogen therapy, pregnant women.

Diabetes: People with diabetes have the higher risk of gallstone.

Cholesterol-lowering drugs: Drugs with low cholesterol increase the risk of gallstone.

Symptoms of gallstones: Commonly gallstones cause inflammation and irritation of gallbladder which produce lots of symptoms. Some symptoms are:

Abdominal pain: Feel pain in the right upper part of abdomen that increase rapidly to several hours or for minutes. The pressure inside the gallbladder is increased the cause of pain.

Vomiting: Vomiting and nausea is common symptoms in gallstone.

Jaundice: biliary duct blocked by the gallstone. In this the skin will be yellowish and whiteness of the eyes.

Itchy skin: Feel irritation and itchy skin.

Some life threatening symptoms are:

Swelling, high fever
Pain in the back between the shoulder blades
Dark yellow urine
Fever, sweating and chills

Precaution from gallstones: Vegetarian diet may reduce the risk of gallstones, try to eat low Cholesterol food and avoid high sugar food, drink lots of water in a day nearby 2-3 liters, avoid rice and eat salad, leafy vegetables, radish, and carrots in your daily diet. Well balanced diet reduces the risk of gallstone.

Treatments of gallstone: If you have gallstone then it’s a time to talk with your doctor and discuss about your disease after studying doctor will decide how will they diagnosis your gallstone. Some common treatment of removing gallstone is less-invasive surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy there are also some non surgical methods, some medicines which is prescribed by doctor according to your disease. What is Ringworm? Ringworm is a type of highly fungal skin infections that causes ring-like red rashes on the skin. There are many type of fungal and some can affect the nails, skin and hair. Asterixis Causes Symptoms and Treatment

What is Asterixis? Asterixis is a type of movement disorder characterized by arrhythmic flexion movements of hands evoked by dorsiflexion of the wrists and outstretched arms. It is an involuntary tremor of the wrist loss of sustained contraction of the arms against ones will. It is produced by lapse of sustained posture. Mainly it causing hand tremors and the tremor occurs in both wrists and is not rhythmic characterized by metacarpophalangeal joints, jerky, irregular movements at the wrist and often accompanied by lateral movements of the fingers. Sometime this condition is called liver flap because it indicate brain damage or liver damage. Asterixis might be caused by kidney problems. Causes of Asterixis : The common cause of asterixis is liver failure or it might be caused by the problems of kidney failure. This is called azotemia. Kidneys have trouble in filtering out nitrogen-based compounds. Other causes are DRUGS (ABC) like alcohol, anticonvulsant phenytoin and carbamazepine,
