What is Heart Blockage?


Heart block is a disease that occurs with heart's electrical system as opposed to coronary artery disease. , It occurs when electrical pulses controls the beating of heart are disrupted. The heart system controls the rhythm and rates of heart system. Some people born with this problem while others are develop during their lifetimes. If it occurs with born it’s called congenital. If the heart block develops after birth, it's called acquired heart block. There are three types of heart blockage:

First Degree: First Degree is the last serve, in this electrical impulses are slowed and it cause rarely. Generally no treatment is necessary for first heart block.

Second Heart Block: In this the electrical impulses are delayed further or some of electrical impulses are unable to reach the ventricles.

Third degree Heart Block: Third degree is most served when none of the electrical impulses reach the ventricles. Ventricular escape beats are very slow and unable to generate signals to the heart system.

Causes of Heart Block: Heart block has many causes. Some people can be born with the disorder condition or develop during their life time.

 First degree heart block causes occur with inflammation of the heart muscle, low level potassium and magnesium in the blood. Some other causes are:
Heart attack
Medication or drugs like Beta blockers, Digoxin.
Second Degree Heart block:
Some children who born with complete heart disease can develop second degree heart block like Damage that develops during the time of heart block.
Bacterial Infection
Medication Side effects

Third Degree Heart Block (Congenital): Congenital heart block occurs in babies whose mothers have an autoimmune condition such as lupus. Third Degree acquired heart block has many factors like:
The most common cause is damage to the heart from the heart attack
Complication in heart surgeries
Coronary heart disease where the heart does not receive enough blood
Cancer that spread from another part of body
Medication can also cause third degree heart block

Symptoms of Heart Block: Below are the few common symptoms of heart blockage like:
First symptom of heart blockage is slow heartbeat due to the narrowing down of coronary arteries. In this condition heart can't pump the required number of times.
Hear become irregular and discontinuous pulses by a person.
Chest pain and the pain can be tight, dull or acute.
When blockage occurs in one or more time then person may suffer from weakness.
Blindness may occur due to weakness or verbal disruptions
Due to lack of oxygen a person can suffer from fever.

Treatment of Heart Block: The treatment of heart block is depending on the type and the result of various tests. Doctor will take following test like:
An ECG (electrocardiogram): This test records the patient activity.
Holter tape: It record the heartbeat of patient
Echocardiogram: It is ultrasound with doctor can see the heart muscles

Doctor will treat with medicine or the treatment will diagnosis by the symptoms and doctor may recommend you artificial pacemaker which is implanted under the skin. Take your treatment by heart specialist.
