What Is an Arrhythmia?

Arrhythmia is a problem of heart with an irregular heartbeat such as heart can beat too slowly, too fast and too early. An arrhythmias is a disorder of heart rhythm occurs when the electrical impulses in your heart that coordinate your heartbeats are not working properly and the heart beat become too fast and too slow. When the heart rate is too fast that is called tachycardias and slow arrhythmias is called bradycardias. When a single heartbeat occurs is called premature contraction. Sometime it becomes life-threatening problem. Some heart arrhythmias are harmless because of irregular heartbeats.

Causes of Arrhythmias: The electrical impulses your hearts that coordinate your heartbeats are not working properly cause the heart to contact. It occurs when the heart's natural pacemaker develops an abnormal rhythm or rate. When a heartbeat is occur then smaller atria and the less muscular contract and fill the relaxed ventricles with blood. Other risk factors are imbalances blood chemistry, such as abnormal potassium levels, heart failure, irregular heartbeats, some drugs, mental stress, hyper tension, overactive thyroid gland and heart attack.

Heart Disease
Anxiety disorder (About Anxiety)
Thyroid disorder (About Thyroid)
Asthma (About Asthma)
Acidosis (About Acidosis)


Symptoms of Arrhythmias: Some patients have no symptoms of arrhythmia but some patients have the symptoms or it may be severe or even life-threatening. Some symptoms are:
Chest pain
Rapid or slow heartbeat
Dizziness, light-headedness
Shortness of breath, emotional stress
Confusion
Sudden weakness
Sweating, paleness
Irregular pulse


Treatment of Arrhythmias: The treatment of arrhythmias on the type and the seriousness of arrhythmia. For the best treatment just consult your doctor he will recommend you best for this like medication, making, undergoing surgical procedures and lifestyle changes which help to control this disease. Also include some therapy like Anticoagulant or antiplatelet therapy and Antiarrhythmic drugs help to control heart rate and beta blockers.
