What is Cataracts?

A cataract is an eye disease which causes clouding of the lens of the eye that affects vision. Mostly the cataracts are related to aging people over age of 40 and cause blindness in the world. The lens is inside the eyes focusing the rays of the light. A cataract can occur in both or one eyes. It affect only eyes not life threatening. Cataracts can affect different areas; there are different types of cataract like:

Nuclear Sclerotic Cataract: This is most common type of cataracts caused by yellowing and hardening of the lens. It changes the ability of eyes to focus. It is usually associated with aging.

Traumatic cataract: This cataract may develop after an eye injury.

Congenital cataract: These cataracts are developing in childhood, in both eyes. These cataracts do not affect vision.

Secondary Cataracts: This cataract can form after surgery for other eye problem like glaucoma or people who have other health problem.

Causes of cataracts: The lens lies behind the pupil and iris. The lens is inside the eyes work like a camera lens. Some of the reasons which cause the cataracts like age, family history relatives who have cataracts, long time exposure to sun radiation exposure to sunlight, eye inflammation in the past, secondary effects like diabetes or trauma, due to eye injury or loss of protein. Congenital cataracts occur when child is born or after the birth. Genetic factor, smoking or heavy alcohol ingestion also increases the risk of cataracts.

Differential Diagnosis: Other condition may cause by other disease like:
Eye injury
Eye tumor
Glaucoma

Some medication which affect nervous system
Retinal detachment or disease

Symptoms of Cataracts: The symptoms of cataracts are painless. There are some sign and symptoms of cataracts are:
Worsening and blurring of vision
Dulling of colors
Decrease night vision
Dimming and fading of colors
Difficulty in vision the object
Sensitivity to glare and light
Cloudiness’ in vision it may affect small part of the eyes.
Frequent changes in contact lens or eye glasses
Difficulty with vision at night
Poor nighttime vision

Precaution from cataracts: We can reduce the risk of cataracts by the changing of life style habits like:
Decrease alcohol consumption
Stop smoking
Wearing sunglasses to protect eyes from ultraviolet rays
Control your Diabetes (About Diabetes)

Treatment for cataracts: It is important that cataracts are diagnosed at an early stage it can be improved before the condition is complicated. It can be treated by magnifying lenses; anti glare sunglasses and better lightening these are non surgical treatment. If this form of treatment is fail then surgery is used to removal of the cloudy lens like extra capsular surgery used to remove the hard centre of the lens. Cataract surgery is performed by an eye doctor. Take your proper treatment by experienced eye specialist because eyes is a very important part of our body nobody can ignore the eye problems.

What is Ringworm? Ringworm is a type of highly fungal skin infections that causes ring-like red rashes on the skin. There are many type of fungal and some can affect the nails, skin and hair. Asterixis Causes Symptoms and Treatment

What is Asterixis? Asterixis is a type of movement disorder characterized by arrhythmic flexion movements of hands evoked by dorsiflexion of the wrists and outstretched arms. It is an involuntary tremor of the wrist loss of sustained contraction of the arms against ones will. It is produced by lapse of sustained posture. Mainly it causing hand tremors and the tremor occurs in both wrists and is not rhythmic characterized by metacarpophalangeal joints, jerky, irregular movements at the wrist and often accompanied by lateral movements of the fingers. Sometime this condition is called liver flap because it indicate brain damage or liver damage. Asterixis might be caused by kidney problems. Causes of Asterixis : The common cause of asterixis is liver failure or it might be caused by the problems of kidney failure. This is called azotemia. Kidneys have trouble in filtering out nitrogen-based compounds. Other causes are DRUGS (ABC) like alcohol, anticonvulsant phenytoin and carbamazepine,
