What is Miscarriage?
Miscarriage is very common problem in women and losing a pregnancy can be heartbreaking/ A miscarriage is the spontaneous abortion before the fetus can survives. A miscarriage usually occurs before the 13 week of pregnancy or in the first 20 weeks. About 1 in 5 pregnancies will end in the first trimester. It often happen when women is not aware that she is pregnant.
Causes of Miscarriage: The reason of miscarriage occur is not identified. Some of Causes are:
Chromosomal abnormality means something is not correct with baby's chromosomes. Abnormalities chromosomal damaged egg or sperm cell.
Age factor: Women over the age of 45 can have 50% chances of miscarriage; women aged in between 35 to 39 can have 20-35% chances of miscarriage.
Uterine abnormalities: Some women are born with abnormally shaped uterus or double uterus.Uterus abnormalities may cause problems with blood supply and create complications for the baby to develop and grow.
Male factor: Sometime male’s sperm may cause miscarriage
Other Risk factors are:
• Smoking during pregnancy
• Obesity
• Maternal trauma
• Lifestyle such as smoking or drinking alcohol
• Misuse drug during the time of pregnancy
• Thyroid disease
• Diabetes that is not controlled
• Due to infections like mumps, parvovirus or HIV
Symptoms of Miscarriage: Symptoms of a miscarriage include:
• Vaginal bleeding: Bleeding or spotting is the first sign of a miscarriage. About 10% of women have the experience of vaginal bleeding during the pregnancy.
• Severe Abdominal Pain
• Fever and nausea
• Weakness
• Back pain
• Cramping, spotting
• Feeling sick and breast tenderness
• Pain in your shoulder tip
If any women have these types of symptoms then its a time to talk your doctor about your pregnancy.
Prevention from miscarriage:
• Exercise regularly
• Avoid Drinking and smoking
• Eat healthy food
• Manage stress
• Take rest for initial 13 weeks
• Stop doing strenuous exercises or physical activities.
• Follow the advice of your doctor
• Avoid Sex after miscarriage
Treatment of Miscarriage: Your doctor will perform ultrasound test or pelvic exam to confirm a miscarriage. If miscarriage is complete then full treatment is required. Doctor will prescribe medicine to remove the tissue that causes the cervix to open, surgery to improve your miscarriage quickly. If you want pregnant again then consult your doctor and strictly followed the advice of doctors. If women have multiple miscarriages then your doctor may suggest further testing to help find the cause.
