What is Angina?

Angina or angina pectoris is one of many causes of chest pain or discomfort, squeezing, or painful feeling that occurs when the heart is not getting enough blood. Usually angina is felt in the arms, throat, shoulders, jaw, neck or back. Angina is also called angina pectoris. Angina is a common disease but can be hard to distinguish from other types of chest pain. It can be affected both men and women.
                                                                 
Causes of Angina: Angina is caused by reduced supply of blood to the heart for a short period of time. The most common cause of reduced blood flow is coronary artery disease. Angina is classified in three types like: (stable, unstable, and variant)

Stable Angina: It is usually caused by physical exertion. When someone  exercise or walk,  climb stairs,, your heart demands more blood, other physical factors like cold temperatures, emotional stress, smoking also cause angina.

Unstable Angina: Unstable angina is cause when blood clots totally block, suddenly it decreasing blood flow to your heart muscles and also caused by conditions anemia.

Variant Angina: Variant angina is rarely occurring and can cause at rest without any underlying coronary artery disease due to relaxation or abnormal narrowing to the blood vessels. Variant angina, also called Prinzmetal's angina.

Other risk factors are which can block blood flow through the vessels partially or completely:
Diabetes
High blood pressure
High cholesterol
Smoking, due to stress or lack of exercise
Plaques
Drinking Too much alcohol
Genetic factor
Aging Factor, Being over 45 for men and over 55 for women

Symptoms of Angina:  Angina is chest problem occur when there is decreased blood oxygen supply to your heart. It symptoms include:

Nausea, Fatigue
Sweating, Weakness
Shortness of Breath
Dizziness
Chest pain or discomfort
An uncomfortable pressure in the middle of chest
Anxiety

Precaution of Angina: For preventing yourself from angina follow some steps like:
Do limit the amount of heavy exercise.
Avoid rich foods and large meals
Avoid smoking and alcohol drinking
Avoid stressful and emotional situations
Take all medicines as your doctor prescribed

Treatment of Angina: Angina treatment is important because it can predict heart attack. the doctor will take physical exams according to symptoms and medical history like Stress test , Chest X-ray to see inside the chest, blood test to check cholesterol or sugar. Angina treatment aim is to reduce pain or prevent from the symptoms. Doctor will treat with medicines, medical procedures cardiac rehabilitation (rehab), and other therapies. Each type has its own treatment take proper treatment by a experience doctor.
