Anasarca Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Anasarca is a medical condition referred to a person who experiences generalized edema. Anasarca is a general swelling throughout the body, considered a massive edema due to effusion of fluid in to the extracellular space. There may be other type edema occurring simultaneously, other organs and cavities also affected by edema. Anasarca is different condition than a slight swelling mostly occurs in the feet. Anasarca is very common in patients with kidney failure and heart failure. Usually anasarca indicates severe illness and may often be seen in the serious condition. Usually it is caused by cirrhosis of the liver or renal failure and increase over a short period of time. To manage the swelling treatment will be seen by doctor.

Causes of Aanasarca: There are some medical conditions which leads to swelling include. There are different causes which affect both men and women:
Eclampsia / Pre-eclampsia
Liver failure due to cirrhosis leads to a variety of other complications
Kidney disease: lead to anasarca caused by high blood press and diabetes
Liver failure from cirrhosis of the liver and kidney failure
Plant based chemotherapy drugs
Severe malnutrition
Protein deficiency
Burns

Acute renal failure
Cirrhosis
Trauma
Anemia
Insomnia
Blood pressure is affected
Diabetes
Eclampsia

Symptoms of Anasarca: Anasarca happens because of underlying problems. Symptoms will include:
Vomiting
Cramps
Shortness of breath
Weakness in Body
Swelling of the ankle and feet
Anemia
Unable to sleep at night
Stretched out skin, burnished skin
Loss of appetite
Changes in blood pressure
Insomnia

Precautions from Anasarca:
Avoid chocolates, alcohol drink,
Exercise regularly
Avoid water pills and salt
Eating high fiber diet take protein like egg, broiled white fish, cottage cheese help to reduce edema

Treatment: Treatment is based upon the underlying condition; the physician will ask the medical history and take physical exam to determine the cause of anasarca like blood ample to check the blood electrolytes, x-rays and additional tests. Some treatment helps to improve and reduce swelling.
Hemodialysis: This treatment used to eliminate excess fluid in liver failure and renal failure. Surgery is used, special Medication used to treat anasarca, EKG and ECG to detect heart problems. With the proper treatment every patient have to follow all precaution advised by doctor.
